Schneeberg and the region around
|
In Schneeberg itself there is a great deal for visitors to explore and discover.

We would like to draw your attention to Saxony`s largest portico church, the church St.
Wolfgang, with its famous altar by Lucas Cranach, and the local museum which is well known far
beyond our area, to mention but two of the things worth discovering.
Visitors who are interested in history will be fascinated by the landscape with its mines
which can be explored on long walks.
There are also worthwhile excursions to be made in the vicinity.

| The attractive mountain range offers opportunities to relax and enjoy the
peace and quiet as well as the chance to discover many interesting things.
There is also a wide range of activities available.
So you can go in for swimming in Saxony`s oldest barrage "Filzteich", a well known bathe in
this area or you can visit the toboggan-run in Oberwiesenthal also in the summer time for
example.
There is also the spa Schlema in the vicinity of our location which you can visit it for
a wellness bathe or more like this.

A little further afield, about over an hour by car, you will be able to visit Saxony`s capital
city, Dresden.
There are always a lot of other interesting and famous towns you will reach from Schneeberg
well, for instance Leipzig, Seiffen or Meißen.
And what about a trip to the Czech republic to the famous spa Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary) or Prague (Praha)?

The best thing would be if you set off on your own journey of discovery in the area around
Schneeberg. We would be glad to assist in any way we can and hope to make your stay as
pleasant as possible.
How about a visit during Advent or the Christmas season? Then you will be able to enjoy all the
illuminations of Schneeberg at Christmas-time.
